Leith, Edinburgh
An L shaped extension wrapping around the back and side of this Victorian sandstone villa has created one huge kitchen, dining and living space.
The extension is clad in dark standing seam zinc, a crisp contrast to the old sandstone. A long rooflight runs along the junction with the original house, and a corner of sliding glass doors opens the whole room to the garden.
Inside, a dark green kitchen with a long island, a dining table and a sofa area all share the space, linked by a polished concrete floor.
