Birkdale, Southport
The front path of this Victorian villa in Birkdale had been covered in tarmac in the 1970s. It has been restored to how it would have looked when the house was new.
A geometric tiled path in terracotta, black and cream runs from the gate to the porch, laid on a lime mortar bed with rope top edging tiles. New cast iron railings and a gate were made to match a surviving section next door.
Low box hedging, standard bay trees and lavender line the path, with a small lawn on either side.
