Marylebone, London
Above a red brick Edwardian mansion block, a bare asphalt roof has been turned into a green terrace with views across the chimneys of Marylebone.
Lightweight porcelain tiles sit on adjustable pedestals over the waterproofed roof, with tall powder coated planters full of olive trees, grasses and rosemary around the edges. A slatted timber screen hides the neighbouring plant room.
A long dining table under a sail shade makes it the place for summer suppers, with festoon lights strung overhead.
