The back room of this 1930s semi had become a dumping ground for toys and ironing. It is now the family's favourite room for film nights.
A full width stud wall was built and plastered to make a media wall, with the TV recessed into it, a wide electric fire below and lit shelves in the alcoves either side. All the cables run inside the wall, so nothing is on show.
New French doors open onto the patio, the floor was levelled and laid with oak effect laminate, and spotlights replaced the old single pendant.
