Attic Playroom with a Hidden Den and Climbing Wall

Kenilworth, Warwickshire

The dusty attic of this Victorian house has become the room every child in the street wants to visit, with a secret den built into the eaves.

A small arched door in the birch plywood wall leads into a cosy den with cushions and fairy lights. Along the other side, a low climbing wall with colourful holds runs above thick crash mats, and deep drawers under the eaves swallow the toys.

Two big rooflights flood the space with daylight, and a soft wool carpet in pale grey keeps it warm underfoot.
