Single Storey Rear Extension with a Lantern Roof

Tettenhall, Wolverhampton

A four metre single storey extension across the back of this 1950s semi has created a big kitchen diner where the family spends most of its time.

A large glass roof lantern sits in the middle of the flat roof, filling the room with light, and grey aluminium bi fold doors open the whole back wall to the garden. The old back wall was knocked through with a steel beam to join the extension to the existing kitchen.

The room was finished with grey porcelain floor tiles, underfloor heating and a new white gloss kitchen with an island.
