Country House Gravel Driveway with Granite Setts

Brockenhurst, New Forest

The long drive up to this brick and tile country house had worn into ruts and potholes after years of rain and delivery vans.

It was rebuilt on a stabilising grid so the golden gravel stays put, with bands of reclaimed granite setts marking the entrance and a sweeping apron in front of the house. Setts also edge the drive, keeping the gravel off the lawns.

The old yew hedges either side were kept and shaped, so the drive still feels as if it has always been there.
