Frome, Somerset
Behind a stone cottage on the edge of Frome, an overgrown plot has been brought back to life as a classic English cottage garden.
Old reclaimed bricks were laid in a herringbone path that winds between deep borders of roses, foxgloves, salvias and catmint. Clipped yew hedges and a pair of box balls give the garden structure in winter.
At the far end, a small lawn leads to an oak bench under an old apple tree, the best seat in the garden on a summer evening.
