North Hykeham, Lincoln
This 1970s bungalow had a big empty roof space, and converting it has turned a two bedroom home into a four bedroom one without changing the outside much at all.
Four Velux windows let in plenty of light, two on each slope, and a new staircase rises from the hall where a cupboard used to be. The two new bedrooms share a small shower room in the middle.
The roof was fully insulated, and eaves cupboards run along both sides for storage.
