Neville's Cross, Durham
The family's washing machine used to live in the kitchen, and coats and boots lived in the hall. A small lean to at the back has sorted both.
The room was insulated and fitted with navy cabinets, stacked laundry machines in a tall unit, a white butler sink and a wooden worktop for folding. Hooks and a boot bench by the back door take the muddy kit.
It is a small room, but it has made the whole house tidier.
