Aldeburgh, Suffolk
A few streets back from the shingle beach, the spare room of this fisherman's cottage now feels like a small seaside hotel.
The walls were lined in painted tongue and groove to dado height, the old boards were sanded and painted a soft white, and the window was given simple linen curtains. An iron bed, a rattan chair and a little writing desk are all the room needs.
The colours are taken straight from the beach: chalky blues, sand and white.
