The old coach house behind this Victorian villa had been used as a garage for decades. Converted into a self contained guest suite, it now gives visitors their own front door.
The tall arched carriage opening was glazed with slim black frames, flooding the room with light while keeping the shape of the old doors. Above, the original roof beams were cleaned and left on show, and underfloor heating runs beneath new stone flags.
A linen upholstered bed, a pair of armchairs and a small shower room behind a panelled wall make it feel like a boutique hotel.
