Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire
In a converted cotton mill above the river, this bedroom makes the most of walls that are almost a metre thick and windows taller than most front doors.
The gritstone wall behind the bed was cleaned and left exposed, and a simple oak platform bed sits low beneath it. The huge original window, with its slim iron glazing bars, looks straight out onto the wooded valley.
Everything else is kept calm and soft, with washed linen, an old oak trunk and a wool rug on the wide boards.
