Hip to Gable Loft Conversion with a Main Bedroom

Shirley, Solihull

The sloping hipped roof on this 1930s semi left no usable loft space. Building the side of the roof up into a full gable and adding a rear dormer has created a large new main bedroom.

A Juliet balcony in the gable end lets in plenty of light and air, and a wide rear dormer window looks over the garden. The stairs continue up from the landing in the same style as the original.

The room was finished simply with white walls, grey carpet and a feature wall of soft blue grey behind the bed.
