Stamford, Lincolnshire
Stamford is full of golden limestone Georgian houses, and this first floor master bedroom has the grand proportions to match. The restoration has brought back the light, quiet, well proportioned room it was built to be.
The tall sash windows and folding shutters were repaired and the walls painted a pale stone white. A simple oak four poster bed sits opposite a restored marble fireplace, with the original wide elm floorboards revived beneath a faded rug.
A connecting door leads through to a new dressing room, keeping clothes out of the bedroom altogether.
