Natural Swimming Pond on the Edge of Dartmoor

A boggy field below this granite farmhouse has become a natural swimming pond, with views across to the moor.

The clear swimming area is lined and kept clean by a planted zone of reeds and water lilies, with no chemicals at all. A larch deck runs along one side with a ladder down into the water, and granite boulders from the site form the far edge.

Dragonflies arrived in the first summer.
